32 Weeks and 2 Days

We are moving along now... Mark and I visited the OBGYN this am. I did not gain any weight over the last two weeks (I am happy!!) but it is OK so long as my belly grew, and it did, by 1.5 cms to 31.5 from top to bottom. I suppose that I will not get this lucky again during the pregnancy so for today I will feel glad I did not balloon out in the last two weeks. Mason's heart rate was at his normal of 153 and there was no mention of my blood pressure so we are all good!!!

A woman at the restaurant where we had breakie afterward mentioned I was small for being 8 weeks away from my due date so that makes me feel a little better. I know getting really big at the end is inevitable and we just want a healthy baby boy but I would feel so grateful if I could stay within a reasonable, less Pilsbury Doughboy size and Mason could be average weight so we have him really "baby size" for longer!

I will see the doc again next Monday then back to two weeks from then- then we will be in the home stretch and I will go weekly starting at 35 weeks! I am getting excited!

Here's this week's pics- please note that the top is NOT a maternity top at all and one I have worn for several years... I hate maternity tops!!! These are my very favourite maternity pants, handed over from Jess and I am so glad. If I could, I would wear them everyday!

Nursery is complete!

Today I finished the last of the nursery prep. I emptied diapers into the little diaper holder, put away odds and ends and finally hung little boy's name above his crib. I ordered this online and it is simple but cute. I had originally wanted an inspirational saying above his crib but maybe when he gets older and we move, I can put one in his big boy room.

I picked up the shelves at JYSK a few weeks ago and stained them to match the crib and Mark hung them a couple weeks ago. We are ready and only 8-9 weeks to go!

31 Weeks

Though I look HUGE and feel enormous, I am still wearing regular tops and sweaters. I just hate how I look in maternity tops- they just accent your size!

I am struggling now with the pelvic bruise feeling that started last week and according to the net and my doc, it is normal and will only get worse as the weeks go on. Walking hurts, especially later in the day once I get home and relax for a bit. I am best first thing in the morning then I just go downhill from there.

As far as being ready for Mason, we definitely are when it comes to supplies and his room. Am I ready to go through the birth- not sure but willing to suffer through just about anything to get back to my normal self again some day. Did I mention that I HATE being pregnant??? I will admit I will miss little man's movements in my belly because that is cool but otherwise, nothing about being this way appeals to me.

Speaking of baby's movements- he is active these days. He must be starting to feel a little squished in there but he still has oodles of room to kick me like crazy!

30 Weeks and 2 Days

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I had my bi-weekly OBGYN appointment today and all seems well. Unfortunately I have gained 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks and I am well on my way to becoming GINORMOUS which is stressing me out a bit. The thought of being over 200 pounds by the end of this pregnancy is extremely distresssing to me. I am really going to have to work hard to lose the weight!

My blood pressure was improved this week which I attribute to the lack of work and BB in my life now. We did, however, have to sit in the waiting room an extra half hour to recheck Mason's heart rate after the doc initially found it to be a bit high. He gave me crap for drinking an iced capp before the appointment! Our second listen to little man's heart went fine- he was back in the normal range. OOPSIE!

As far as how I am feeling now, in my 31st week... I feel sore. Walking hurts a little and I am out of breathe a lot. I have a tender bruised feeling on either side of my pubic bone which doc says is normal but it hurts and I do realize that the discomfort will only get worse as the end draws near.

Check out these beauties! My mom sent us a little St. V care package. Thanks mom!!!!!

Last of the Supplies for Mason

I met CD for lunch today and we popped into the mall for some final items required for Mason's first weeks with us. I found a new diaper bag (bigger) at Babies 'r Us. I also picked up some new born binkies and a few pairs of socks for him. To my shock, they were sold out of scratch mitts which one would think would be a staple item in a store like that. I ended up finding some at the Bay and they were on sale too.

When I got home, Mark and Kae had rearranged our bedroom so we had more room for the bassinet when Mason arrives. Today, Mark hung the 2 shelves I stained last weekend then I placed Mason's name on the wall too. With 10 weeks to go, I need to be ready

I also started packing my hospital bag. Lana is in full force.

Physically, I feel tired (partly related to full time school as well) and sitting down and getting back up are getting harder and harder. Baby moves alot and it is amazing how quickly you get used to all that movement and fluttering in your belly.

29 Weeks!

Wow, I cannot believe I am here. It is true, since December, the time really has flown by and I am rather used to being pregnant now. I cannot believe I am 11-12 weeks away from meeting Mason!

I find myself really winded alot these days and getting up, sitting down and entering and exiting the car are more of a chore than anything else! Some things I did not expect nor know about, pre-pregnancy, were just how difficult breathing can be and of course, with my heart murmur, that I would feel extra fatigue/burden. Calf and foot cramps also took me by surprise- these are awful and creep up so unexpectedly! The acne is making me crazy too!

My food aversions are almost nil and I am hungry more often these days. I am loving milk and craving fruit. I am also craving cookies and treaty things too- oopsie.

I seem to be gaining a pound a week which is what the internet and books say will happen toward the end. I feel pretty huge already so I am a bit distressed about the weight.

Love my latest Teefury shirt- you cannot see it all but it is a pic of a piece of bacon, an egg, a toast and coffee as little men, all holding hands - breakfast is my favourite meal! Oh and can you believe it fits at 29 weeks? :)

Love Photoshop

Mark removed the giant shadow on Mason's forehead so we could have a nicer ultrasound pic.

Another shipment from the O'Briens

I received 2 more shipments from Michigan today. That makes 4 in less than a month. We received a big box of oh so cute baby boy clothes 0-3 months, a box of DVDs, CDs and books, then today came the dreaded breast pump (which really scares me). All this stuff is such a life saver and so helpful, saving us so much time and money. I am so very grateful.
The second shipment of today was this absolutely awesomesauce adorable pillow made especially for Mason and I adore it!

Love you Michele!
